The service hear of two corps members has been extended by NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORPSE( NYSC) for violation of the laws of scheme.
Yobe State NYSC coordinator, Mrs. Hafsat Yarima disclosed this on Thursday at the passing out parade of the 2021 batch ‘A’ stream II corps members held at August 27 stadium, Damaturu.
She said ” As a corollary failure to abide by the law of the National Service two corps members have their service year extended for a period for one to two months for act of impropriety which constitutes an infraction of the National Service bye-laws”.
The coordinator said that NYSC like other institutions in the country has their own policy where there are rewards for hard work and punishments for indiscipline and indolence.
“It’s is my earnest hope that you have learnt the lesson intended of this carrot and stick policy of the scheme” she said .
Mrs Yerima also charged the passing out corps members to make use of their entrepreneur skill that they have learnt during the orientation in order to be self employed.
She said ” there is no better time to start as masters of yourselves than now because you have neither high expectations of yourselves or encumbance. Fortunately at all levels are making devout efforts at creating investment friendly environment for the creative mind”.
The coordinator maintained on this note that the management of the NYSC is collaborating with financial institutions and donor agencies in order to empower skilful corps members to start a business of theirs after service.
She lauded the Yobe State government for all the necessary support and collaboration rendered to the scheme.
